Ingredients
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup a mix of almond , chopped
1/4 cup seeds pepitas and sunflower seeds
1/4 cup dried cranberries chopped
1 tablespoon of honey
Β½ cacao powder
2 tsp of avocado oil
1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 165Β°C.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped nuts, seeds, and dried fruits. Mix well and the ingredientS are well combined. Place a pot on the stove over medium heat and heat the avocado oil until hot. Then, add the honey and cacao powder, stirring until well combined.
- Add the chocolate mixture from the previous step to the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix the mixture and stir until everything is lightly coated. This will add a touch of sweetness to the muesli.
- Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the muesli turns golden brown and crispy. If desired, you can mix the mixture once or twice during baking to ensure even toasting. However, I personally prefer larger chunks.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the muesli cool completely. As it cools, it will become crunchier.
- Once the muesli has cooled, add the chocolate and enjoy it with your favourite milk. This recipe holds a special place in my heart as it brings back cherished childhood memories.
- Store the homemade muesli in an airtight container or jar at room temperature for up to a month.
