“This is something people have to know: I can’t help but feel anxious if I don’t have eggs in the fridge. A good boiled egg with a sprinkle of salt is a winner for me at any time of the day. It is an incredibly versatile ingredient that never disappoints. In fact, it’s a non-negotiable snack in my meal prep routine. I always make sure to have hard-boiled eggs and raw ones readily available in the fridge.”

Ingredients

  • 4 Eggs

  • Water (to cover the eggs completely)

  • 2 TSP of white vinegar  (IMPORTANT )

Directions

  • Place the eggs in a  pot. Make sure they are in a single layer and not stacked on top of each other.
  • Add enough water to the pot to cover the eggs completely. The water level should be about 1 inch above the eggs. Add the vinegar.
  • Place the pot on the stove over medium heat and bring the water to a boil.
  • Once the water reaches a rolling boil, reduce the heat to low and let the eggs simmer for about 15 minutes.
  • While the eggs are simmering, prepare a bowl of ice water.
  • Remove the eggs from the hot water and transfer them to the bowl of ice water. This helps stop the cooking process and makes the eggs easier to peel.
  • Let the eggs sit in the ice water for at least 5 minutes to cool down completely.
  • Gently tap the eggs on a hard surface to create cracks or you can help yourself with a tsp and move the shell. Peel the shell off
  • Rinse the peeled eggs under cool water to remove any shell fragments
